Forrest earned an "iron-man" tag by playing in a then league record 188 consecutive games from 1956 until 1971, his final season which he spent with the Super Bowl bound Dallas Cowboys. He is remembered as a dominant football player who played both sides of the Mustang line as an offensive and defensive tackle from 1952-55, earning All-Southwest Conference honors in 1954 and 1955. He won All-NFL acclaim eight straight years from 1960 through 1967 and was selected to play in nine Pro Bowls.In 1961 and again in 1965, when injuries created a crisis on the Packers’ offensive line, Gregg willingly switched to guard to fill the void.
