@samemilio The battery life in the Razer Phone 2 isn't that bad. The best high-end camera costing more than $2000 should have plenty of resolution, exceptional build quality, good 4K video capture and top-notch autofocus for advanced and professional users.
LOL.Even if Canon doesn't improve these specs for the next 8 years, it should be pretty competitive for a "cheap" ILC with a primary function of stills shooting.Not even their cine cameras have 8K, of course Alpha wont.All this information from Canon, mostly about video, but yet NO information on the Sensor megapixel count, or if it will have an AA filter over it?? !Canon has only mentioned an 8K Raw mode, both in its briefing and this press release.A 4K Raw mode would need some kind of downscaling or sub-sampling system.One option is 1/4 res but 3/4 of the file size, the other is closer to 1/4 file size but now 1/4 res with added risk of artifacts.My assumption is this is why most companies only offer full-pixel Raw.Thank you for your extremely detailed answer.
