We are appreciative of Dane and his response on the first morning, but by then the situation was evident and the ensuing two days brought little change. We ate twice in the hotel restaurant.
The decor is cute and everything is very comfortable. Stone fireplace and flatscreen television add a nice touch.

For $250+per night you don't want to feel like you're in a kitchen's vent flume! (Dishwasher included) Bedrooms on the top and lower levels both have a full bath with shower and Whirlpool. The "guest room" worked perfectly for us. Enjoyed our visit, encourage more connecting and help up front, to making guests feel welcomed rather than a duty. Who comes to the North Shore to have a lake view with closed windows and air conditioning? Very curteous.Front desk staff - some were very nice, some just so-so. It definitely reminded us of a 'days-gone-by', 'Dirty Dancing' style resort. It is unfortunate because the beauty and serenity of Larsmont is deeply appreciated.
I would definitely go back.We were here last year for two nights, and here for two nights again this year. This resort is kept up so nice and we are so close to the lake. Lake Superior has a healing and peaceful energy. It is a bit pricey, but a reasonable value for the money spent!
They also offer kayaks and bikes, but we were too busy exploring the area and hiking further north. My wife and I went there in late March (2016) while our son was off on a trip. My only wish was for a firmer pillow. We wanted to be in a place that had a kitchen so we could prepare our meals, and a view and a space to reflect on the greatness of the North Shore. My fiancé and I stayed here for one night in a "guest room." They are doing a marvelous job navigating this pandemic.
The first night we didn't have any hot water to shower. The view is spectacular and I love how they provide you with a s'mores kit, fire wood, & kindling generously. Sadly, at least in this was particular unit, the crew didn’t quite make it happen.
Thank you to all the staff that works hard behind the scenes to maintain a beautiful setting like Larsmont. When checking in, another customer was complaining, and unhappy, the exchange was unpleasant for all. Good location near two harbors but not too far out of Duluth. Ledge rock grill offered a flavorful, tasty walleye dinner over yummy rice that was amazing!
The place was very nice and exceeded expectations. It was a relaxing get away.
