Faraway Mountain and Mount Roberts Loop is a 7.8 mile moderately trafficked loop trail located near Moultonborough, New Hampshire that features a lake and is rated as difficult. Loose rocks and thoughtful foot placement necessary, so good training grounds. Nice hike. Quick but steep hike with some good viewpoints of the lake on the way up. Pretty fun challenge.
Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash. It’s quite steep in some stretches, but mostly is moderate. Straight up the whole way. Best views are prior to summit. Great little restaurant for lunch, ice cream, etc at trail network base. Took many breaks. The grounds can get very busy during the summer. Great views on the way up.Relatively simple and straightforward trail. It was a wonderful hike!! Few hikers early morning, by 11am it was very busy. Not much to inspire for views at summit though. With a gradual gain nearly all the way to the summit, this trail is relatively easy.The first view point is less than a mile into the hike with other viewpioints around 1.5 miles into the hike.
